Petitioner is the father of respondent nos. 4 and 5 who complained that his sons had been creating immense torture upon him. To that effect, information was furnished on 19.02.2025 and subsequently on 27.02.2025 when the proceedings were pending before the Maintenance Tribunal similar incidents took place.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the respondent nos. 4 and 5 created immense pressure and coerced the petitioner to withdraw the maintenance case.

In view of the Superior officer of the police authorities being the Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur having received an information on 01.03.2025, I direct the Superintendent of Police to treat the representation with a human face, conduct an enquiry if required. A fresh case be instituted before the Maintenance Tribunal. So far as the life and liberty of the petitioner being at threat at the

hands of his sons being respondent nos. 4 and 5 is concerned, if any information is furnished to the police authorities, police authorities would ensure that the petitioner is not subjected to any torture, harassment and can enjoy his life peacefully. Needless to state that, there may be circumstances where cognizable or non-cognizable offence is not created but the petitioner being an aged person is subjected to insecurity, in such circumstances also, the police authorities would ensure regarding the petitioner enjoying his life in a peaceful manner.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 5952 of 2025 is disposed of.
