Mondal ...for the Respondent No. 5 It is the case of the petitioner that he was a student of B.Com (Hons.) at Prafulla Chandra College. In the final marksheet provided by the university, he was shown 'absent' in one subject of sixth semester examination. The petitioner submits that he was not absent in the examination, but there was some omission either on the part of the university or the college resulting in the absence notation.

The college files an affidavit.

It is admitted by the college that there are some mistakes in forwarding the marks of the petitioner to the university by the relevant examiner. It also appears that the college made a request to the university by a letter dated September 7, 2022, for issuance of a modified Marksheet/ Grade Card at the earliest.

The university submits that the Controller of Examinations, University of Calcutta shall look into the matter.

In that view of the matter, the Controller of Examinations, University of Calcutta is directed to issue the revised marksheet in favour of the petitioner based on the representation dated September 7, 2022 submitted by the college within a period of four weeks from date. Accordingly, WPA 5928 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
