The application was made in the year 2011 and the same is pending inordinately till date. This court notes with anguish that the petitioner's application is pending for about ten years now. Learned counsel for the Eastern Coal Fields Limited submits that by reference to a letter dated 03.01.2020, the case of the petitioner for compassionate employment has been referred to the Chief Manager (Personnel) Empl./ED, ECL HQ, Sanctoria by the Area Personnel Manager, Pandaveswar Area. A copy of the said letter is handed over to court. The same may be taken on record.

In these circumstances, the Director Personnel, Eastern Coal Fields Limited, Sanctoria namely, respondent no.3 herein is directed to take a suitable decision on the petitioner's application for compassionate employment as recommended on 03.01.2020 by the Area Personnel Manager, Pandaveswar Area, within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order positively. The decision of the respondent no.3 shall be communicated to the petitioner within seven days thereof.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent xerox certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking.
