The petitioner has expressed his agony that within six months of marriage, his daughter was subjected to torture and subsequently she was murdered by the private respondents herein. To that effect, information was furnished and Matia P.S. Case No. 45/2025 dated 04.02.2025 was registered for investigation.

I have considered the accusations. Primarily it is a case of dowry death, according to the contentions advanced in the FIR.

State has submitted a report which reflects that steps are being taken and the investigating authorities are still to arrive at their conclusion in respect of the investigation being carried out. The grievance of the petitioner relates to the fact that

only one person has been arrested and rest of the persons are evading the process of law. So far as the husband is concerned, he was arrested. Other accused persons, if their custodial interrogation and/or detention is required for the sake of investigation, the police authorities will apply their mind and thereafter take steps in accordance with law. So far as the investigation is concerned, the same is progressing, but efforts must be there to conclude the investigation within a reasonable period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 5838 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
