The Superintendent of Police, Baruipur Police District and the Special Superintendent of Police (Ops), CID, West Bengal have filed reports and the same are taken on record.

It appears from the report that a look out notice against Alok Kumar Das has been sent by Narendrapur Police to the CID, West Bengal on 1st December, 2022. The matter has thereafter been referred to the Central Government, Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs. Prayer for verifying the address of Alok Kumar Das through Interpol at UAE was also received by the CID, West Bengal through the Baruipur Police. Therefore, it cannot be said that there is inaction on the part of the police.

The CID, West Bengal shall immediately take steps for procuring the attendance of the said Alok Kumar Das in the investigation. It shall also be ascertained if the passport of the said Alok Kumar Das which, expired on 8th July, 2009, has been applied for extension. The CID, West Bengal shall coordinate with the Central

Government authorities to trace out the whereabouts of the said Alok Kumar Das.

Given the fact that the petitioner provided a mobile number where she received a call from the said Alok Kumar Das, the Narendrapur Police shall take steps to verify the place from where the said call was made last either through the CID, West Bengal and/or through the Interpol.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
