The petitioners are the teaching and non-teaching staff of one Nari Kalyan Samittee Mentally Retarded Residential School. By Memo No. 894-MEE Sectt dated 28.06.2001, the Joint Secretary of Mass Education Extension Department sanctioned the Academic recognition to the said school as Institution for mentally impaired children. Subsequently, the OSD, Ex-Officio Joint Secretary Department of Mass Education Extension by an order dated 16.11.2010 confirmed the sanctioned of sponsorship to the said school. However, it was clarified that only eligible teaching and non-teaching staff would be absorbed against the respective posts. In spite of this, till date the respondent authorities have not acted upon the said sponsorship. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that as the sanction of sponsorship has not been

acted upon yet, the same may be considered by the respondent no.3. However, there may be a case of ineligibility of some of the teaching and non-teaching staff. It appears that although the School in question was recognized and thereafter granted sanction of sponsorship by the Mass Education Extension Department, no further action has been taken by the respondent authorities in this regard thereafter.

Representations from the end of the petitioners are pending consideration.

It also appears that relevant documents were submitted when asked for.

In view of the above, let the respondent no.3 consider the case of the petitioners for appropriate approval along with financial benefit for the petitioners including the representations made by the petitioners and the school in this regard in accordance with law and expeditiously, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
