Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. Petitioner has approached this Court as he apprehends that he may be obstructed while performing his religious obligation at the graveyard of his father. To that effect, he has informed the police station, but no response has been received. Such religious obligation of the petitioner is to be performed on 15th March, 2025 and 16th March, 2025 (up to dawn).

Since the emotion of the petitioner is involved and the police report submitted before this Court reflects that the police authorities are trying their level best so that the petitioner and the private respondents can sit together and arrive at a consensus, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would sit at the police station with the private respondents so that consensus can be arrived at. The terms of such

consensus would be decided by the Inspector-inCharge, Eco Park Police Station, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate.

In case consensus cannot be arrived at by both the parties, in that case the Inspector-inCharge, Eco Park Police Station will make an arrangement so that the petitioner can discharge his religious obligation in the graveyard of his father from 9 p.m. of 15th March, 2025 to 2 a.m. of 16th March, 2025. Appropriate police deployment may be made so that there is no law and order crisis at the relevant period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 5824 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
