The grievance of the writ petitioner is that there were disputes and differences which might have led to exchange of force and counter forces between two groups. The writ petitioner was a member of one of such group, lodged complaint before the second respondent.

The writ petitioner claims that no step had been taken by the police under such complaint. Such inaction on the part of the police authority is the cause of this writ petition. Mr. Bellal Shaikh representing the State submitted a report dated March 12, 2021 prepared by the concerned SubInspector, viz., Rajib Kumar Pal, O.C. Mejia, P.S. Bankura. The said report is kept on record. From the said report it appears that the relevant police authority had already started prosecution under Section 107 of the Criminal Procedure Code in two different cases and also initiated P.S. case No.27 of 21 dated March 6, 2021, arising out of the complaint of the writ petitioner.

The learned Advocate representing the state on instruction further submitted that the police authority would take all steps in accordance with law, in the matter, as expeditiously as possible.

In view of the above, the present writ petition being WPA 6811 of 2021 stands disposed of. Since no affidavit-inopposition has been used, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on priority basis. (Aniruddha Roy, J.)
