The grievance of the petitioner in this writ application is non-payment of family pension to her.

I have heard learned Advocate for the petitioner and Learned Government Pleader for the State. In his usual fairness, Mr. Majumdar, Learned Government Pleader, has submitted that his Office has ascertained that the petitioner is indeed entitled to receive family pension. However, the petitioner has not yet completed the requisite formalities without which the pension cannot be released in her favour. Learned Advocate for the petitioner on the other hand submits that the petitioner has approached the concerned Authorities but she has been sent back empty handed. I do not wish to go into such disputes. Mr. Majumdar in his usual fairness has assured this Court that if the petitioner approaches the concerned Authority with all

available documents, full co-operation will be extended to her. After she complies with the procedural formalities and after due verification, the pension that she is entitled to, shall be released in her favour at an early date. I request the Learned Government Pleader to use his good office to ensure that the petitioner starts receiving pension within 8 weeks after completion of the requisite formalities. No useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

WPA No. 4993 of 2019 is accordingly disposed of. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of necessary formalities.
