The petitioner is one of the six accused persons. The charge is one of murder.

The petitioner says that he was not named in the first information report. Upon being intimated by the learned Court below, he has approached this Court praying for anticipatory bail.

We have seen the material in the case diary. There are statements of several witnesses recorded under Section 161 of the Code naming the petitioner as being involved in the alleged crime. The case is of 2018. The prosecution says that the petitioner has been absconding.

Be that as it may, given the nature and gravity of the offence and the material in the case diary, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for anticipatory bail. The prayer for anticipatory bail stands rejected. Accordingly, C.R.M. No.2467 of 2021 is dismissed.
