1. Let affidavit-of-service, as filed in Court, be kept on record.

2. In spite of service, none appears on behalf of the school authorities.

3. The petitioner is an Assistant Teacher. He had applied for transfer on general ground sometime in 2021. However, the transfer was not permitted and the application kept pending as the petitioner was not in the zone of consideration for such transfer to the three preferred schools of his choice as indicated by him.

4. In the circumstances afore-stated, it would be appropriate for the petitioner to apply afresh indicating other preferences in the offline mode since the Utsashree Portal is presently under suspension.

5. The school authorities will consider the application of the petitioner in the offline mode and also consider the case strictly in line with the decision of this Hon'ble Court in MAT 471 of 2025 (Rupam Biswas vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.) and forward the same to the concerned District Inspector of Schools within a period of fifteen days from the receipt of this application, if he is found to be otherwise eligible.

6. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

7. Urgent Photostat Certified Copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
