The petitioners are serving as Health Assistant (Female) in the department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. They allege that they have been posted to far off places. They pray for transfer to their home district.

Reliance has been placed on the order passed by this Court on 28th May, 2024 in WPA 14922 of 2024 (Ranu Hazra & Ors. v. The State of West Bengal & Ors.) and the order dated 5th March, 2026 passed in WPA 2442 of 2026 (Marium Khatun v. The State of West Bengal & Ors.).

It has been submitted that the petitioners are similarly placed as Ranu Hazra (supra) and Marium Khatun (supra). Prayer has been made to pass similar direction in the instant writ petition.

As the petitioners claim to be similarly placed as Marium Khatun (supra), the instant writ petition stands disposed of in the same lines as that of Marium Khatun (supra), directing the Director of Health Services, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal to consider the prayer of the petitioners seeking posting in their home district in the manner as has been directed in Ranu Hazra (supra) at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 6.

The petitioners shall be obliged to forward individual representation to the aforesaid respondent for consideration, disclosing their serial number in the cause title of the instant writ petition.

The instant writ petition has been filed by eight petitioners by depositing only one court fees. 8.

Learned advocate for the petitioners is directed to deposit the deficit court fees by 21st April, 2026, in default, the order passed herein shall be restricted only in respect of the petitioner no.1 and the writ petition shall be deemed to be dismissed in respect of the others.

All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photocopy of the certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
