The petitioner asserts that he is the President of a trust namely, Ram Bhakt Seva Mandal Trust, located in Bhowanipore, Kolkata - 700 029.

The petitioner intends to organise the Holika Dahan programme on the evening of March 13, 2025. However, he alleges that the relevant police authorities and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation have not granted permission for the event to take place. On March 12, 2025, the petitioner expressed his willingness to hold the program at one of the following three locations within the jurisdiction of the Bhowanipore Police Station:

 Chakraberia Park

 Northern Park  D. N. Mitra Square Today, the police authorities have informed that all three of the aforementioned locations are already booked for Holika Dahan events by other organisations. However, the police have proposed an alternative location on O. C. Ganguly Sarani (Behind Forum Mall), where the petitioner may organise the programme.

The petitioner has agreed to this alternative proposal.

In light of this development, no further order is required to be passed in this writ petition. The Officerin-Charge of Bhowanipore Police Station shall provide all necessary assistance and manage the traffic at the designated event location.

Accordingly, WPA 5938 of 2025 is disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
