Earlier, there was a direction by this court to complete the prosecution's evidence. However, for various reasons, the same could not be completed. Therefore, learned advocate for the petitioners prays for bail on any stringent condition.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the case is at an advanced stage.

Having considered the period of detention and the fact that the case is at an advanced stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioners on bail at this stage. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is Rejected.

However, the petitioners are in custody for a substantial period of time. State would put in effort so that by 15th August, 2026, the evidence of the prosecution's witnesses is over. The learned trial court would within 45 days from the completion of 313 of the Cr.P.C. try to pronounce the Judgment.

Accordingly, CRM (M) 807 of 2026 is dismissed. Memo of Evidence submitted be kept with the record. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
