Leave is granted to add the Director of Public Instruction, Government of West Bengal as a respondent. Necessary corrections be done in course of the day.

An amended copy of the writ petition is served on the learned counsel for the State.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's mother was working as a Library Attendant at the Gurudas College. She retired and started receiving pension from 01.07.2015. However, she passed away on 11.01.2019. Thereafter, several representations were made by the petitioner to the concerned authorities about grant of family pension to her. But, the same was not considered.

Learned senior counsel representing the State submits that no representation has been made before the concerned authority being the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal. The College is represented.

In view of the above, the petitioner is granted liberty to make an appropriate representation before the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal in this regard. If the same is made within a fortnight from this date, the Director of Public Instructions, West Bengal will be expected to consider the same in accordance with law within eight weeks from the date of making such representation.

It is clarified that the merits of the case have not been gone into.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
