The instant revision is taken up for hearing in presence of Mr. Mirza Firoj Ahmed Begg, learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge for disposal. Appointment of Mr. Begg be regularized by the learned Public Prosecutor, High Court, Calcutta.

A case under Section 20(b)(ii)(c)/27A/29 of NDPS Act is pending before the learned Special Judge (NDPS), Purba Burdwan. The learned Judge framed charge against the accused on 28th March, 2023 and the next date for recording evidence is fixed on 6th July, 2023.

It is submitted on behalf of the accused/petitioner that the petitioner is suffering from various ailments. Therefore, he wants that

the case instituted against him may be disposed of at an early date. On perusal of the record, I do not find any laches on the part of the learned Trial Judge. However, considering the fact that the petitioner has been suffering from various ailments and he is in custody, the learned Trial Judge is requested to take expeditious step without making any compromise with his delay to dispose of the abovementioned case.
