Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is in custody for more than 5 years and renews her prayer for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. It is submitted that out of 12 witnesses 6 have been examined.

I have considered the material on record which prima facie indicates the connection of the petitioner with the gruesome murder of a child aged about 3 years. Considering the gravity of the offence as well as prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

Considering the period of incarceration, learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
