Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty Mr. Amanul Islam Mr. Sourav Mukherjee .... For the Petitioner Mr. Srijan Nayak Ms. Rituparna Maitra .... For the WBSEDCL The grievance of the petitioner pertains to disconnection of the electricity line of the petitioner on the ground of non-payment of electricity dues.

The respondent Distribution Company is represented and submits that the aggregate dues of the petitioner is Rs.69118/-.

I have heard the parties.

In view of the submissions made on behalf of the respondent Distribution Company I direct that the line of the petitioner be restored upon payment of the outstanding dues of Rs.69118/- in two equal instalments to be paid on 25th March, 2021 and 12th April, 2021 respectively. The electricity connection is to be restored by the Distribution Company upon payment of the first instalment i.e. 50% of the total dues of the respondent Distribution Company and after compliance

with all other necessary formalities as may be necessary in accordance with law. It is needless to mention that the petitioner will continue to pay the regular bills in accordance with law. In default of any of such instalments as stated above, the Distribution Company is directed to forthwith disconnect the electricity connection of the petitioner. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he has already paid a sum of Rs.3,000/- out of the total outstanding dues. It is made clear that if any such payment is made by the petitioner towards the outstanding dues of the respondent Distribution Company, the respondent Distribution Company be directed to credit such amount to the account of the petitioner after making necessary ascertainment. With the aforesaid directions, W.P.A. 6916 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
