The petitioner participated in the 12th Regional Level Selection Test, 2011. He failed to qualify in the examination. Challenging the selection process, some of the unsuccessful candidates, including the petitioner, approached this Court and direction was passed on 18th August, 2022 in WP 8189 of 2013 (Jyotirmoy Mondal & Ors. v. The State of West Bengal & Ors.) directing the Commission to take certain steps in the matter.

An application for contempt was filed alleging violation of the direction passed by the Court. The petitioner, however, was not a party in the contempt application. The petitioner is not aware as to

whether the direction passed by the Court was complied with in his case or not.

A representation on behalf of the petitioner through the learned advocate is pending consideration before the Eastern Regional School Service Commission.

Without entering into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the competent authority of the Commission to take a decision in the matter at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 5.

A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter. 6.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the subject representation along with all documents in support of his claim to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
