Perused the report filed by the Assistant Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Panchayats & Rural Development Department. The same is taken on record. The District Magistrate, Dakshin Dinajpur has been requested to take necessary steps to issue the appointment letter in favour of the petitioner upon observing all formalities, namely, police verification and medical examination. The funds that may be required in connection with such appointment was also asked to be intimated to the department.

The letter dated April 11, 2023 issued by the Assistant Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Panchayats & Rural Development Department indicates that the approval to the appointment of the petitioner in a Group - D post in the exempted category, has been given and, accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of

with a direction that steps be expedited with regard to the appointment of the petitioner, subject to the police verification and medical examination.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
