Learned advocate for the NCB, on the other hand, refers to last of the orders wherein it reflects that regular Presiding Officer is not available, as such, trial could not proceed.

Having considered the same as also taking into account the huge volumn of contraband which has been recovered, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this stage.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the prosecution is directed to complete the trial within four months of the learned trial court/Special Court resuming duties.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 500 of 2026 is dismissed. Report submitted by the NCB is taken on record. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
