The writ petitioner had lost her son. Thereafter, she lodged complaint with the concerned police station alleging murder of her son. Since no steps was taken under the complaint, she initiated proceeding under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. Pursuant to the direction made in the said proceeding by the jurisdictional criminal court, necessary FIR was lodged being FIR No. 754 of 2020 dated October 1, 2020. The writ petitioner's grievance is that despite all these, the concerned police authority is not expediting the further steps. Mr. Sabir Ahmed, learned advocate representing the State furnished a report dated March 17, 2021 prepared by the Inspector-in-Charge, Kaliachak Police Station, DistrictMalda, the same is kept on record. From the said report, it is evident that the concerned police authority had already

initiated criminal case being P.S. Case No. 754 of 2020 dated October 1, 2020, inter alia, under Sections 302, 34 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code as against the accuseds. From the report it is further evident that, the statements of the relevant witnesses had also been recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Mr. Sabir Ahmed further on instruction submitted that, the concerned police authority will take all necessary steps in the matter in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

In view of the above, noting survives in the writ petition.

Accordingly, the present writ petition being WPA No. 6947 of 2021 stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
