Petitioner approached this court expressing his anxiety that his daughter along with her minor son had been missing since 16.02.2025. To that effect, information was furnished with Ashoknagar Police Station. Accordingly, Ashoknagar PS Missing Case No. 36/2025 dated 16.02.2025 was registered. The same was endorsed to Sub-Inspector Dibyendu Ghosh, enquiry was conducted by the Officer concerned, statement of the daughter of the petitioner was recorded by way of videography and

also declaration was submitted to the police station by the said Riya Banerjee Som.

Having considered the overall circumstances and the fact that the lady happens to be major and is willing to stay isolatedly, I am of the view that the police authorities had no scope to interfere and as such the contents of the Missing Diary which was the genesis of initiation of the proceedings, have been addressed by the police authorities. As such, further pendency of the writ petition is unwarranted.

Accordingly, WPA 6129 of 2025 is disposed of.
