The writ petitioner claims that despite complaint dated 29th January 2021 the Cokeoven Police Station has not taken any steps.

It appears from the records that since after filing of the writ petition, the petitioner was asked to visit the police station.

Learned counsel for the State has produced a report in the form of instructions issued by the Officer-in-Charge, Coke Oven Police Station, Asansol Durgapur Police addressed to the learned State Advocate and the same is taken on record.

This Court notices that the complaint, albeit quite brief, discloses commission of cognizable offences. Coke Oven Police Station shall register FIR immediately and investigate into the matter and complete the same within a period of three months from date mandatorily and positively.

The Officer-in-Charge, Cokeoven Police Station, Asansol Durgapur Police is warned against any such casual instructions to State Advocates.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
