Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner renews his prayer for bail after remaining in custody for 2 years.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. It is submitted that 2 out of 22 witnesses have been examined so far.

Though the petitioner submits that the incident occurred at the spur of the moment and there was no premeditation, the victim was allegedly stabbed with a knife, carried by the petitioner which was recovered from the petitioner's house at his instance.

Considering the material on record prima facie connecting the petitioner to the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
