1. Learned advocate representing the petitioner undertakes to file affidavit of service in course of this day.

2. Petitioner is aggrieved by inaction on the part of concerned police authority in taking steps based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner. However, today learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 23rd March, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Topsia Police Station, Kolkata and same is taken on record. Copy of said communication dated 23rd March, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

3. It is disclosed in the communication dated 23rd March, 2026 that complaint of the petitioner

has already been transformed into an FIR and a criminal prosecution has been initiated being Topsia Police Station Case No. 47 dated 22nd March, 2026 under certain provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

4. In view of steps taken by the police authorities by registering FIR and initiating a criminal prosecution no order needs to be passed on this writ petition at this stage and writ petition is disposed of.

5. However, concerned police authority is directed to expedite the investigation and submit report before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date.

6. Petitioner shall also be at liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate, if occasion so arises.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
