The allegation of the petitioner is that as a counterblast to the FIR lodged by the petitioner, which has resulted in Gaighata Police Station Case No.231 of 2022 dated March 17, 2022, the respondent Nos.5 to 9 have been continuously threatening the petitioner and her family members. On an earlier occasion, my predecessor Judge had directed the Superintendent of Police, Bongaon, North 24Parganas to ensure that the petitioner and her family members were sufficiently protected from subsequent threats posed by the respondent Nos.5 to 9. A report was also called for. Today, the Superintendent of Police, Bongaon Police District, North 24-Parganas, has filed a report from which it

appears that the petitioner and her family members who have been residing under Bongaon Police Station have been provided with necessary protection by the IC Bongaon Police Station. The OC, Gaighata Police Station has also ensured round the clock vigil in the matter, by deputing one RT mobile van with an officer. The RT mobile van has been assigned the duty of patrolling.

The learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner and her family members do not want protection from the Bongaon Police Station but the persons residing at the petitioner's paternal house under the Gaighata Police Station, must be granted protection.

The learned Advocate for the respondent Nos.5 and 9, submits that the said respondents have been released on bail and the allegations against them are misconceived and baseless.

As the report of the Superintendent of Police, Bongaon Police District, North 24-Parganas clearly indicates that the police authorities are more than willing to protect the petitioner and her family members, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Officer-in-Charge, Gaighata Police Station to ensure that an RT mobile van, along with an officer visits the paternal house of the petitioner twice a day and also keeps strict vigil.

Irrespective of the fact that the petitioner is residing at Bongaon, no further protection is required at Bongaon as per the petitioner's submissions. Such protection shall be withdrawn.

This Court has not expressed any opinion on the allegation and counter-allegation as also on the disputes which exist between the parties.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
