1. By way of this writ petition styled as a Public Interest Litigation, the writ petitioner has stated that unauthorisedly a water body has been filled up and in this regard several representations have been given to all the respondents but till date no action has been initiated. Learned counsel representing the State on instruction received through the O.C., Chandrakona, Paschim Medinipur would submit that the concerned B.L.& L.R.O, Chandrakona-1, Paschim Medinipur has addressed the Chairman of the Khirpai Municipality on 01.03.2024 after noting the physical features of the property. But however, the Municipality has not initiated action till date. Though the Municipality has been served, none appears for the Municipality.

2. Considering the facts which have been reported by the B.L.&L.R.O, we direct the Municipal Authorities viz. the 7th and 8th respondents herein to immediately conduct a spot inspection alongwith the Officers of the B.L.&L.R.O Office at Chandrakona-1,

Paschim Medinipur after notice to the petitioner and after noting physical features, if there is any unauthorized filling up of water body, immediately action shall be taken. The above direction shall be complied with within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

3. In the result, the writ petition is disposed of however without any order as to costs.
