Report filed by the State is taken on record. Copy of the victim's statement under Section 164 of the Code is kept in a sealed cover, after perusal.

Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that although the petitioner had made a complaint about kidnapping of his minor daughter on 05.01.2024, the police did not take any step.

Learned counsel representing the State submits as follows. On the complaint of the petitioner, Patashur Police Station Case No.10/24 dated 05.01.2024 under Sections 363/365/34 IPC was registered.

On 13.03.2024, the investigating agency held a raid and recovered the missing girl. Subsequently, a statement of the victim was recorded under Section 164 of the Code and the girl has been kept at a care home.

It appears from the statement given by the 17 years old daughter of the petitioner under Section 164 of the Code that she was kept at her maternal uncle's house from her childhood. They used to torture her. When she complained to her parents, they would also beat her up. This prompted the petitioner to flee away to her friend's place.

In view of the recovery of the victim and the statement made under Section 164 of the Code, no further order need be passed in this regard.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of without any order as to costs.
