Despite service, none appears on behalf of the respondents. Affidavit-of-service is taken on record. The petitioner participated in a selection process for engagement to the post of part time contractual Homoeopathic Medical Officer at Balijuri Gram Panchayat, District-Birbhum. The petitioner claims to have stood first in the panel. The Additional District Magistrate, Birbhum & Additional Executive Officer, Birbhum Zilla Parishad by a letter dated December 20, 2018 called for some documents with regard to the selection process. The petitioner claims that such documents were submitted.
Alleging inaction on the part of the authority, this writ petition has been filed.
It is submitted by the petitioner that the Executive Officer, Dubrajpur Panchayat Samiti submitted the relevant
documents, but no steps have yet been taken with regard to the aforementioned selection.
Without going into the merits of the claims of the petitioner, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Additional District Magistrate, Birbhum & Additional Executive Officer, Birbhum Zilla Parishad to inform the fate of the selection process to the petitioner by specifically mentioning whether there was any further embargo or impediment in granting the engagement to the petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's result or whether the process had been either cancelled or abandoned. Such decision shall be communicated within a period of six weeks from date of communication of this order. The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the writ petition along with a server copy of this order upon the Additional District Magistrate, Birbhum & Additional Executive Officer, Birbhum Zilla Parishad.
The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.
There shall be no order as to costs.
Parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
