The petitioners complain that under an illegal Salishi, regarding the death of the lover of the petitioner no.2, land belonging to the petitioners was sought to be grabbed by the private respondents. It is submitted that the police has not yet taken any step in respect of the petitioners' complaint. It appears from the instructions of the Harishchandrapur Police Station, Malda that FIR No. 172 of 2021 dated 4th March, 2021 was registered and investigation was completed. It further appears from the said instructions that charge-sheet has been registered against nine persons including the private respondents being Harishchandrapur Police Station C.S. No. 5 of 2022 dated 11th January, 2022 under Sections 341/323/324/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioners may obtain a copy of the said charge-sheet from the Investigating Officer of Harishchandrapur Police Station and they may take steps as may be advised in accordance with law in respect of the same.

In the above circumstances, this Court finds no inaction on the part of the Harishchandrapur Police Station, Malda.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
