Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the initial challenge in the writ petition was preferred against the bill raised for electricity charges by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (in short WBSEDCL) in respect of the petitioner's electricity meter. However, during pendency of the writ petition, the appropriate authority has issued a notice to the petitioner indicating a date of hearing on which the petitioner was to appear before the said authority. The petitioner had failed to attend on the said occasion due to personal exigencies. Learned counsel contends that the appropriate authority, that is, the

Regional Grievance Redressal Officer (RGRO) be directed to decide the said issue expeditiously. Learned counsel appearing for the WBSEDCL contends that due action as per the contemplation of law has been taken by the respondent authorities and there is no scope for interference in the writ petition.

In such view of the matter, WPA No. 6007 of 2022 is disposed of by requesting the RGRO, being the respondent no. 3, to decide the billing dispute raised by the petitioner upon hearing the petitioner and all necessary parties in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within one month from this date.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
