The petitioner is a retired employee of the Indian Meteorological Department. He is aggrieved by the scale of pay according to which his payment was made.

The Court is of the opinion that grievance against the said department cannot be adjudicated by the Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India as the Court of first instance. The said department is under direct control of the Central Government.

Disputes in respect of the said department will be amenable before the Central Administrative Tribunal.

The writ petition stands dismissed.

5.

The petitioner will be at liberty to approach before the appropriate forum for relief in accordance with law, if so advised.
