Mr. Maidul slam Kayal Mr. Noor Ul Amin Mr. Koustav Roy Mr. Mohinoor Mullick ... for the petitioner Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee ... for the WBSEDCL The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction in granting an electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner. Pursuant to a direction dated 20th March, 2026, WBSEDCL has filed a Report, which is taken on record.

It appears from the Report that due to resistance from third parties, WBSEDCL is unable to provide any electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner. There is also a requirement for erection of an electric pole and providing way leave.

In view of the nature of disputes, which has been raised by the WBSEDCL, WPA 6572 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the concerned District Magistrate having jurisdiction to ascertain whether it is possible to provide a separate electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

It is made clear that there has been no adjudication on the disputes of the case and the concerned District Magistrate is at liberty to decide the grievance of the petitioner in accordance with law after giving right of hearing to the petitioner and the private respondent WBSEDCL. The above exercise is to be completed within a month from the date of communication of this order.
