None appears on behalf of the Pradhan in spite of service.
The petitioner alleges that the PMAY-G grants and the MGNREGS wages entitled to be disbursed in favour of PMAY-G beneficiaries have been diverted and credited in the account of persons who are not the actual beneficiaries.
It appears from the instruction given by the Block Development Officer, Bharatpur-I Development Block that the said issue was taken up for consideration. Enquiry has been conducted as per government norms. Notices were issued to ineligible persons in whose favour funds were credited. Refund of
government grants is under process. The matter has already been referred to the higher authorities in the administration. The course of action has not yet been completed.
The Block Development Officer has submitted that the entire issue will be settled within a short period of time as per legal provision.
It appears from the instruction given by the Block Development Officer that steps have already been taken pursuant to the compliant lodged by the petitioner. The enquiry process is under progress.
The District Panchayat & Rural Development Officer is directed to ensure that the enquiry process reaches its logical conclusion at the earliest, but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date communication of a copy of this order.
The said authority shall ensure that the grants are released in favour of the actual beneficiaries. The writ petition stands disposed of.
The instruction given by the Block Development Officer, Bharatpur-I Development Officer dated 19th April, 2022 be retained with the records.
Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
