The present writ petition was filed seeking a direction to the official respondents to find out the whereabouts of the missing son of the petitioner. The matter was last listed on 5.12.2011 when CID, West Bengal was directed to submit status report.

The learned Counsel for the official respondents submitted that case No.174 of 2010 dated 17.3.2010 was registered for alleged kidnapping of the son of the petitioner. After investigation charge sheet was filed in Court. After trial the accused was acquitted. In view of the aforesaid information furnished by the learned Counsel for the official respondents, nothing survives in the present writ petition. The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
