Counsel for the petitioner submits that his client is a foreign national. He further submits that his client was convicted and served sentence under the Foreigners Act, 1946. He also submits that his client is being readied for repatriation back to his origin country.

The writ petitioner claims that he may have been born in Myanmar but he is a Bangaladeshi citizen. A copy of the identity card issued under ID No. 2853549778 by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is annexed to the instant writ petition.

The respondent no.4 shall approach the Bangladesh High Commission in India along with a request and a copy of the writ petition to take back their citizen, after verifying the petitioner's claim that he is a National of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of fifteen days from date.

Upon receipt of any communication from the High Commission, the respondent no.4 shall take consequential measures/steps.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
