Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner alleges unauthorised construction at the behest of Respondent Nos. 6 to 8.

In response, learned counsel representing Respondent Nos. 6 to 8 has produced a sanctioned plan, asserting that the relevant construction has been carried out strictly in accordance with the sanctioned plan. Learned counsel appearing for the Hooghly Chinsurah Municipality submits that the municipality will conduct an inspection to determine whether any construction has been undertaken in violation of the plan sanctioned by the municipality. Following such inspection, the municipality will take necessary action in accordance with the law.

In light of the foregoing, there remains no substantive issue for determination in this writ petition. The Municipality is hereby directed to carry out the inspection within a period of four weeks from the date of this order, providing due notice to both the petitioner and Respondent Nos. 6 to 8. Based on the findings of the inspection report, the municipality shall proceed in accordance with applicable law.

Accordingly, WPA 6378 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
