This writ petition has been filed challenging reservation of seats under the Chandannagar municipality. As the election notification has already been published, the matter cannot be entertained by the Writ Court.

This writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioners to approach the appropriate forum at the appropriate stage, in accordance with law, as the dispute raised by the petitioners is an election dispute.

Reference is made to the decision of the Hon'ble Apex Court in the matter of State of Goa & Anr. Vs. Fouziya Imtiaz Shaikh & Anr. reported in (2021) 8 SCC 401.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be, however, no order as to costs. Parties are directed to act on the server copy of this order.
