Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 3 months and the subject matter of the case relates to alleged recovery of 20,725 ampoules of buprenorphine injection. Learned advocate further submits that only one witness till date has been examined and the prosecution proposes to examine 28 witnesses in support of its case. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the huge quantity of seizure, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. However, State would in the next six months expedite the progress of the trial so that the vital witnesses are examined.

Consequently, CRM (NDPS) 517 of 2026 is rejected at this stage.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
