It appears that the private respondents refused to accept the service.

Report filed on behalf of the State is also taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the de facto complainant in this case and the wife of the injured victim. The private respondents tried to kill the petitioner's husband. A case was started being English Bazar PS Case No.1398 dated 24.08.2023 under Sections 341, 326, 307, 506 and 34 of the Penal Code. No further steps have been taken by the Investigating Agency in this regard. The accused are moving around freely and are even threatening the petitioner and her family members.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. A thorough investigation is

being done in this case. Witnesses have been examined. CDR analysis has been on phones. One accused has been arrested. The date for examination of the victim under Section 164 of the Code has been fixed today i.e. on 29th April, 2024. It appears that the police have taken some steps for the investigation of the case.

Let the Investigation Agency make all endeavour to conclude the investigation expeditiously and in accordance with law.

The police authorities shall also keep a sharp vigil at the locale and ensure that no harm ensues the petitioner and her family members. Surveillance shall include frequent visits by police patrol.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
