For the Respondent No. 4 The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure of the respondent CESC to install a fresh electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

After hearing the parties I am of the view that in view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service there are no grounds whatsoever as to why the same should be objected to by the private respondent.

The CESC is directed to install a fresh electric connection in the existing meter at the subject premises. The petitioner is directed to comply with all formalities in order to enable such connection. The police authorities are directed to give necessary police assistance, if required.

The aforesaid exercise should be completed within a period of four weeks from date.

With the aforesaid directions, W.P.A. 7346 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
