Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was not named in the first information report. The police filed charge sheet on August 30, 2021. The petitioner applied for anticipatory bail before the Sessions Court which was rejected on February 1, 2022. Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the name of the petitioner transpires from the statement of the eyewitness. The victim suffered gunshot injury. The petitioner stands implicated in the incident as appearing from the materials in the case diary.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

CRM (A) 1624 of 2022 is dismissed.
