The Block Development Officer, Galsi - I Block shall take immediate steps with regard to sanction of pension of the petitioner on the basis of his application made through the e-Pension Portal. The petitioner retired as a gram panchayat karmee on March 31, 2022. No decision has yet been taken by the authority either allowing or denying the retirement benefits.

The decision shall be taken within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The petitioner and the Pradhan, Postna Pursa Gram Panchayat shall be heard. Necessary order shall be passed.

If there are reasons for not allowing the retirement benefits, the same shall be disclosed by a

reasoned order which shall be communicated to the petitioner. In case, it is found that the petitioner's application is not in order, necessary assistance shall be given to the petitioner to file a proper application and to rectify the defects.

It is made clear that if the eligibility of the petitioner is decided in the positive, the pension sanctioning authority shall forward the papers to the appropriate authorities for necessary steps.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
