The grievance of the petitioners is directed against a final order passed under the provisions of the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971.

The respondents are represented.

It is submitted on behalf of the respondents that the petitioners have an alternative, efficacious remedy in law and should approach the appropriate authority. In view of the statutory alternative and efficacious remedy available to the petitioners under the aforesaid Act, I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition.

WPA 7432 of 2021 is disposed of as nonmaintainable. The petitioners are granted liberty to approach the appropriate authority in accordance with law.

I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the case and nothing contained in this order will influence the Appellate Authority in considering the case of the petitioners.
