The petitioner challenges the election process of the Pradhan which was held on August 27, 2021. There are ten candidates of Dhanpota Gram Panchayat under the Magrahat-II Development Block. One Doly Pramanick has been elected as Pradhan of the said Gram Panchayat. The petitioner no. 2 is the UpaPradhan of the Gram Panchayat. The petitioner has annexed the ballot papers of all the ten elected members of the Gram Panchayat. It has been submitted that the party affiliation has not been correctly mentioned in the ballot papers.

The petitioner further contends that the vote of one of the elected members was cancelled but the petitioner was not aware as to whose vote was cancelled by the Prescribed Authority.

From the ballot papers that have been annexed to the writ petition it appears that the Pradhan Doly Pramanick secured six votes and the petitioner secured four votes.

There is no apparent error in calculating the votes that have been casted by the elected members of the Gram Panchayat.

The Court does not find any reason to interfere with the writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
