For the WBSEDCL The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the Distribution Company to provide a fresh electricity connection in respect of the submersible pump of the petitioner. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is ready to comply with all necessary formalities but the respondent Distribution Company has failed to take steps to provide such electricity connection at the subject premises.

The respondent Distribution Company is represented and submits that the private respondents are creating obstruction and hindrance to the representative of the Distribution company to provide such electricity connection. In view of the submissions made on behalf of the parties and in view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service, the local police authorites being the respondent No. 3 is directed to give necessary police assistance to the representatives of the WBSEDCL to carry

out the aforesaid inspection and provide the petitioner with a fresh electricity connection.

It is needles to mention that the petitioner will make payment of all necessary and statutory expenses for such electricity connection.

The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of 8 weeks from date.

With the aforesaid directions, W.P.A. 7455 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
