The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that there has been no progress in connection with Uluberia P.S. Case No. 372 of 2022 dated 02.12.2022 which was registered for investigation under Sections 420/406/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner was never served with a notice also as to whether the investigation of the case has been concluded.

As none appears on behalf of the State, Mr.

Amit Kumar Ghosh, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears for the State, is directed to represent the State. His appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

In view of the case having commenced since the year 2022, I direct that in case the investigation of the case till date has not been concluded by way of filing a report under Section 173 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the concerned Inspector-inCharge of Uluberia P.S. Case No. 372 of 2022 dated 02.12.2022 would take steps to submit such report

within a period of sixty days. In case charge-sheet has been submitted, the petitioner be informed regarding the outcome of the investigation preferably within a period of thirty days from the date of communication of the order by the learned advocate appearing for the State.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 7072 of 2024 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
