The only prayer of the petitioner is for a direction on the State respondents to consider and dispose of a representation made by the petitioner on 11th January, 2022 for being appointed as a Muslim Marriage Registrar in Paikar Police Station in the District of Birbhum.

Learned counsel appearing for the State respondents submits that there is a procedure for considering an application for the post of MMR. Upon hearing learned counsel appearing for the parties, WPA 6255 of 2022 is disposed of with a direction on the respondent no. 2, being the Inspector of Registration and Commissioner of Stamp Revenue to consider and dispose of the representation which may be made by the petitioner to the said authority within a week from date. The respondent no.2 shall dispose of the representation within four weeks from the date on which such representation is received. The petitioner shall be heard if required and a copy of the reasoned decision shall be made available to the petitioner within a week from the date on which such decision is taken. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertakings.
