The petitioner is in custody for more than nine years and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. It appears that the trial is at its fag end and date has been fixed for examination of the accused under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Considering the material on record as well as gravity of offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. Learned trial Court is directed to take the proceedings to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

The application is disposed of.
